Our school

Our school,I.S.125Q, provides us students with lots of activities making our learning a more fun experience. The Girls Who Code Program, which takes place after school, is a program that teaches girls like myself how to code. This program will help girls in the future to become smart, strong leaders who will be able to find jobs related to computer science.

Math and coding

  • I believe that coding and math are very related. I don't know much about coding, but I think it uses formulas and common sense. I think it also uses a language like the math language.
  • I believe that knowing math can help improve your coding skills. Since coding is science and science and math are related, then coding and math relate.

leadership and Technology

  •  Women don't value themselves as much as they should and it's important that they use the computers that they're comfortable with so everyone could be equal. When women use computers, they don't see themselves as girls, or as women, they see themselves as  intelligent human beings.
  •  Technology helps me organize, keep track of everything, research, and helps me make good choices. Sometimes I can email people in the middle of the night or at times that we can't reach each other.
  •  I think technology is good, and technology is bad. Technology helps translate and make it easy for students to research information. Technology is bad because I see people texting more than talking face to face. and I think it's bad for our social interactions. If you made mistakes in social media, you can't take it back.

Science and technology

  • Technology allows us to do many things that we couldn't do before in a faster way. It opened up so many windows and things we can do.
  • Technology allows us to store data that we weren't able to store before. We discuss discoveries with other scientists. We could get more information from people with different backgrounds. We could not do all this without technology.

Women and Technology

  • Women have a long road ahead to find their place in the technology field. They have to start early, not only to learn the skills, but to be told to take chances and believe in themselves and their ability.
  • It was a rewarding, pleasurable experience to introduce and lead these girls into this field, which was challenging to them because the lessons were different than anything they had learned before. I am proud of their persistence and the hard work that went into creating this web page, which showcases their creativity and courage while  working toward the  Girls Who Code's mission of closing the gender gap in technology.
